Well this is my final blog entry as our adventure comes to an end. It's been a long trip with some amazing experiences and adventures. To think we started off with 4 in the caravan and ended the trip with 5 of us so that will always be a special memory.
The girls trying out their new Vasse Primary school uniforms as they are now enrolled to start on the 24th of February the day after we move into our new home in Abbey.
Our home in Australind tourist park for the last 6 weeks.
The girls loved it here because it had an amazing playground right next to where we were camped.
Kyra in front of Toby's crawl tent where once it was zipped up we knew he was safe.
And at last the day had come for our last trip in the caravan to our new home. A sad farewell to our neighbours for the last 6 weeks, Pete and Carlene who coincidentally were leaving the next day after us.
The final trip with the van from Australind to Abbey. All feeling a little sad and nostalgic.
Our new home! After 16 months squashed in our caravan we finally have lots of space to move which feels great. Here the girls are getting ready for their first day at school. Note the picnic table behind them. That's about all the furniture we have!
Slowly we start to buy furniture and make our new abode more homely.
But we our still sleeping on our caravan mattresses!
Toby moves from his cramped bassinet to the luxury of a brand new cot
My new toy. This great drop down trailer which is just so handy for all the furniture trips. Here I am unloading the cubby house for the kids which I just bought.
Putting the kids new play kitchen together.
The girls big surprise to come back from school to their new play kitchen and cubby house below.
Abbey beach which is about 200 metres from our front door. One of the reasons we took this house. Great for an afternoon dip.
Kyra helping put away the huge load of firewood I brought back in our trailer from the local mill.
Bit by bit the house is looking more comfortable and the tight squeeze of the caravan is becoming a distant memory.
The mattresses go back into the caravan and we all get new beds.
And Stef even gets a new permanent office. Makes a change from having to lift the bed up in the caravan to set her desk up!
The kids playroom looking far too tidy!
At first I couldn't get the caravan down the side of the house to the caravan shed at the back.
But after some serious bush cutting I just about squeezed it down the side with just inches to spare.
And the last blog photo has to be our van Bertha which I just managed to fit into the caravan shelter looking lonely and unused. So if you want an adventure she's up for sale and ready to take another family to the outback and beyond!
