OMA AND OPA'S VISIT TO ALBANY - APRIL 2015

We were all so excited when Oma & Opa announced that they wanted to come to Albany to stay with us even though we did not have a cosy home for them to share. They stayed in a little bungalow in our caravan park, which was not exactly very luxurious and spacious, but for us who are used to the tiny confines of our caravan it seemed enormous. The girls spent most of their days there and we all shared a family dinner on a big dining table together every evening.

Oma & Opa arrive at Albany airport on 14th April (Toby almost one month old). The girls are all giddy with excitement. The last time we all met was when they came to visit us 1 1/2 years ago in New Zealand and of course this was the first time for Toby to meet his grandparents.

First family breakfast together on our front lawn.

Family walk to the blow holes south of Albany.

Showing Oma & Opa our favourite Little Beach.

Toby asleep in the beach tent.

The girls came across a mermaid stranded on Elephant Rock Beach by Denmark.

Dave enjoying the view of the crystal clear water at Elephant Rocks.
Oma & Opa were always keen to go on any excursion as they felt a little bit trapped in the caravan park which was 10km out of town and did not have any walks nearby. So we tried to take them around as much as possible and show them beautiful Albany and its surroundings.
We took them on our favourite walk up to Nancy's Peak in the Porongurups.

The girls showing Oma & Opa how to get energy for walking from one of the giant Karri trees.

Opa cuddling Toby on top of Nancy's peak.

Greens Pool in William Bay National Park, Denmark.

Four little elves in the magical forest maze by Denmark.

Another of our favourite walks up to the Granite Sky Walk of Castle Rock in the Porongurups.
Bit of a climb up scary ladders but we all made it safely up and down.

To Due South for some coffees and baby chinos.
Finally decided to tackle Bluff Knoll which is 1099m high and the second highest peak of WA. The climb up was steep but everyone especially the girls did really well getting to the top and they even carried their own packs. The views were magnificent and very rewarding.

Family holiday to Pemberton in the Southern Forest for a few days:

Valley of the Giants, Walpole.

Climbing up the 75m Bicentennial Tree. The girls were only allowed to climb 10 pegs to Ayla's great disappointment and Kyra got a bit upset when she watched Mama disappear in the lofty height.

Chilling out in our holiday home in Karri Valley Resort.
Opa certainly had the knack of sending Toby to sleep (and himself in the process).

Oma has the honour of cuddling Mathilda the pet Kangaroo.

The girls cooking marshmallows in our cosy chalet at the resort.

Mother's Day breakfast in our chalet.

Two beautiful mothers!

Having a go at archery.

Regular visits from Kookaburras and other forest birds on our chalet terrace.

The beautiful view across the lake to our resort.

Opa's birthday wish was a day of hiking up the Devil's Slide followed by a Thai meal at Maleeya's Thai Café.

Late Night birthday cake celebration.

Fun and games in Oma & Opa's chalet.
